Report: Pittsburgh drivers are among the worst in the US

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh may have some of the worst drivers in the country, according to a new report from Allstate.

Allstate America's Best Driver's Report ranks Pittsburgh 178th out of the 200 largest US cities when it comes to safe drivers.

The report looked at habits like seatbelt usage and texting behind the wheel. Pittsburgh drivers had an average of 18.3 "braking events" per 1,000 miles.

Brownsville, Texas was named the city with the safest drivers while Boston came in at 200.

Pittsburgh’s ranking did improve slightly over the past year. It was ranked 185th in 2015.
