18-year-old Sto-Rox senior identified as victim in deadly shooting

McKEES ROCKS, Pa. — An 18-year-old high school senior died after he was shot in the head Monday afternoon in McKees Rocks, police confirmed Tuesday morning.

Channel 11 has learned Hasson Shackelford is in 12th grade at Sto-Rox.

The shooting happened just before 2:45 p.m. of the shooting along Camp Street and Shackelford was found with a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, but he did not survive.

Detectives were going door to door along Camp Street Monday afternoon asking neighbors what they saw. Homicide detectives are investigating.

Sto-Rox school officials made the decision to move to virtual schooling in light of the deadly shooting.
