Police say it was last month when Mickens held the two women hostage and killed Luke Connolly.
Connolly's girlfriend told the judge she watched him die after he was stabbed with knives and screwdrivers.
After that, Mickens allegedly stabbed her in the chest and raped her repeatedly.
A woman who lives in the Scott Township home where Mickens was arrested said she calmed him down until he fell asleep then ran out and called 911.
On Friday, a judge called this case one of the most shocking and depraved cases he's seen in his over 20-year career.
