PITTSBURGH — The best and worst elementary schools in Pennsylvania have been ranked by U.S. News & World Report.
The publication analyzed 1,752 public and private K-12 schools across the entire state.
Coming in at No. 1 was Fairview Elementary School in Fox Chapel. Other local schools in the top 10 included:
- No. 2: Bower Hill Elementary School in Peters Township
- No. 3: Pleasant Valley Elementary School in Peters Township
- No. 4: Markham Elementary School in Mt. Lebanon
- No. 6: Mccullough Elementary School in Penn-Trafford
- No. 7: Sunrise Elementary School in Penn-Trafford
- No. 9: Ohara Elementary School in Fox Chapel
- No. 10: Foster Elementary School in Mt. Lebanon

Scoring of the districts was nearly 100% based on students’ performances in math and reading state assessment tests, according to a press release.
