LATROBE, Pa. — Excela Health’s new $10 million robotic surgical center will focus on cancer treatment at the company’s Latrobe Hospital.
According to our partners at TribLIVE.com, health system officials said the new center will allow people living nearby to get robot-assisted surgery at a local facility.
The surgery has been performed in the past few months at the new center and it is less invasive, creates smaller incisions and allows for a quicker recovery.
Excela Health officials said this will also help streamline the cancer treatment process so patients won’t have to get tests or diagnoses done at other facilities or health care systems.
