PITTSBURGH — Mario Lemieux is an investor in an all-natural cocktail mixer company.

The Pittsburgh Penguins owner and National Hockey League legend is in good company should he wish to raise a toast to Owen’s Craft Mixers, which just closed a $7.5 million funding round. Other Owen’s backers participating in the round include country music star Lee Brice, Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Darius Rucker, singer and songwriter Ryan Hurd, Levy Family Partners and Maas Family Office, owners and creators of cream liqueur RumChata.

The capital is earmarked for talent hires, to ramp up sales and marketing efforts, and to manufacture additional product inventory, which will be produced in part to meet the demand of new authorizations from Publix and 7,500 CVS locations throughout the country.
