Allegheny County — One of five people charged in a shooting outside of Monroeville Mall pleaded guilty Tuesday morning.
Brandon Noel, 23, plead guilty to aggravated assault before Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge David Cashman and faces sentencing in January.
Noel was one of six people charged in the April 2019 shooting, which followed a fight involving two groups from McKeesport’s Crawford Village housing community, Allegheny District Attorney Stephen Zappala said.
According to investigators, the fight took place inside the mall and spilled into the Macy’s before one of the groups ended up outside, at which point one man fired 14 shots.
“At the age of 23-years-old, this is a young man that realizes he could have killed 14 people. He fired 14 times. He is thankful that no one was injured by the grace of God,” said Noel’s defense attorney, Jimmy Sheets.
No one was injured but there was damage to the outside of the Macy’s store.
