The projects were part of a multimillion-dollar upgrade made possible by donors and an endowment.

The first phase of the planetarium project includes improved technology, clearer visuals and more interactivity.

The Miniature Railroad and Village features new digital text panels, archived images, improved lighting and decor, and a new model to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment.

Science Center officials said 2020 has certainly brought challenges, from temporary furloughs to brief closures, but they are hopeful for the future.

The planetarium reopens Nov. 21.
