Quick arrest made in shooting at Pittsburgh apartment complex

PITTSBURGH — Police quickly made an arrest after a shooting Tuesday night at an apartment complex in Pittsburgh’s Spring Hill neighborhood.

Christopher Shannon, 21, was taken into custody and charged with attempted homicide in connection to the shooting, which happened about 9:30 p.m. on Rhine Place.

Pittsburgh police responded to the shooting after receiving 911 calls and being notified by a ShotSpotter alert to 14 rounds fired in the area.

A man was shot in the leg, police said.

When officers got to the scene, someone was getting ready to take him to the hospital. The officers then applied a tourniquet to the man, who was ultimately taken to a hospital by paramedics.

Shannon was seen on surveillance video shooting the victim, police said. He was arrested on Rhine Place.
