Sweet Tooth Trail debuts in Butler County

Man doesn’t drive drunk, but allows 13-year-old to get behind wheel to get ice cream

BUTLER CO. — Butler County’s finest sweet treats will be featured on a new self-guided tour.

Local bakeries, ice cream shops, and candy stores will be part of the Butler County Sweet Tooth Trail, highlighting their fan favorite flavors of chocolate, baked goods, ice cream, shaved ice and even nostalgic candies for everyone to savor.

The Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau created the tour, with participants setting their own itinerary and filling up their passport with a specially designed symbol from each location before moving on to the next stop.

Once the passport is complete, participants can take it to tourism bureau located at 310 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, to claim a commemorative prize and be entered into the grand prize drawing for a sweet-themed gift basket.

Passports can be picked up at participating Sweet Tooth Trail locations, the tourism bureau or any of the bureau’s 35 brochure racks throughout the county.

“We have so many unique bakeries, ice cream shops and nostalgic candy stores in Butler County, and we wanted to create a way for everyone to experience all these wonderful businesses,” said Jack Cohen, President of Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau.

The 16 participating locations include: Baldinger‘s Candy, Cranberry Dairy Queen, IceBox Creamery, Mainstreet Bake Shop, NatuRoll Creamery, Nothing Bundt Cakes, P&B’s Sweets and Eats, Peace Love & Little Donuts, Peter’s Chocolate Shoppe, Speckled Hen Chocolate Company, The Meadows Original Frozen Custard, The Snowman, The Two Fraus Bakery, Tin Man Sweets Bake Shoppe, Valencia Donut Company and Wendereusz’s Candy & More.
