MONROEVILLE, Pa. — A teenager is facing felony charges for his involvement in a fight on a school bus.
A source with the Gateway School District told Channel 11 that Harvey Glen Hicks Jr., 18, and five other students were riding the bus home from the high school Thursday afternoon. As the bus was nearing the end of its route, Hicks allegedly stole a student’s cellphone and then started to beat the student.
“It’s the safety of the other students on the bus (that’s) No. 1,” said Louis Shealey, a grandparent.
Shealey’s grandson attends Gateway High School and rides the school bus. He’s concerned that the district did not notify him about what happened.

“Anything that goes down in the district, parents should be made aware of,” he said.
Sources said the beating on the bus was so bad, there was blood on the seats. Another bus was called in to finish taking the rest of the students home.
Monroeville police are handling the investigation.
Hicks is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, terroristic threats and strangulation.
Gateway School District did not respond to phone calls and emails seeking comment.
