BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — A 9-year-old child and two adults are in the hospital after they were shot late Wednesday in Baltimore County, authorities said.
According to The Baltimore Sun and WBFF-TV, the incident occurred about 11 p.m. on Lanham Way. Baltimore County police said gunfire erupted, striking victims outside and inside a residence, police told the Sun.
Police said the child suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body, while the adults suffered wounds to their upper bodies, the Sun reported. All three were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, police said.
“Detectives are investigating to determine if the victims were targeted,” police tweeted shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday.
