ST. LOUIS — Grammy Award-nominee Post Malone took a tumble while performing in St. Louis on Saturday night, injuring three ribs in the fall but finishing the show.
The rapper accidentally fell into an open trap door, Rolling Stone reported.
He gave a video update Sunday on Twitter after leaving the hospital, telling his followers, in part: “Everything’s good. They gave me some pain meds and everything, so we can keep kicking (expletive) on the tour.”
“I just want to apologize to everyone in St. Louis, and I want to say thank you guys so much for coming to the show. And next time I’m around this way, we’re gonna do a two-hour show for you, so we can make up for the couple missed songs that we missed,” he added.
Malone unknowingly walked toward where the stage door, typically used to move equipment to and from the stage, was open and plunged partially into the chasm while performing “Circles” about midway through the show, Rolling Stone reported.
After slamming his ribs on the stage and writhing in pain for a few moments, the artist summoned medical assistance and excused himself backstage for about 15 minutes, People magazine reported.
Per Rolling Stone: “While still clutching his ribs, Malone powered through and closed out his St. Louis concert with an abbreviated set that include ‘Rockstar,’ ‘Cooped Up’ with Roddy Ricch, ‘Sunflower’ and ‘White Iverson.’
