Though recalls are supposed to get dangerous toys off the shelves, a watchdog group says they’re still being sold.
The U.S. Public Interest Research Group released its annual toy safety report and found more than a dozen of the 44 toys recalled over the past two years are still being sold online.
Some of the toys were recalled for choking hazards, high lead levels and for USB chargers overheating.
“We don’t want parents to be afraid, but they should be empowered and make sure that they don't already have toys that might have been recalled,” said Mike Litt of the U.S. Public Interest Research Group.
The Toy Industry Association is confident that toys sold in stores are safe, but said to check any online deal that seems too good to be true.
