PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have the chance to end their streak of playoff losses on Monday night, but the wild-card matchup at Acrisure Stadium against the Houston Texans won’t be an easy one.
While the Steelers will aim to end their playoff drought, Aaron Rodgers will also end a streak of his own.
The last time the future Hall of Famer appeared in the playoffs, it was with the Green Bay Packers during the 2021 season — a loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round.
That’s the longest Rodgers has gone without a playoff appearance since becoming a starter for the Packers.
On Thursday afternoon, Channel 11’s Shelby Cassesse spoke with Rodgers, who reflected on the last year, including his decision to sign in Pittsburgh and the ups and downs of the season.
He believes part of the team’s success this year was the willingness to embrace the rollercoaster of the last 18 weeks.
“A lot of you probably in this group, either publicly or privately, we’re talking about Mike Tegan next, and so it feels good to shut all those comments down. Clean the slate,” Rodgers said. “Now, anybody can make a run. You know, it’s the hottest team. We’ve won four out of five. We’re playing a lot better football than we were earlier in the season. I like our chances.”
Cassesse asked Rodgers about what it’s like to have wide receiver DK Metcalf in the building again, and he smiled and said he’s thankful, but admitted Metcalf only knows one speed.

Though it was a fast-paced walkthrough on Thursday, it was a bit more intense for him and Metcalf.
Rodgers said he likes the work that he and his top target put in on Thursday.
