Kris Letang named finalist for Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy

PITTSBURGH — Penguins defenseman Kris Letang has been named a finalist for the Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy.

The NHL made the announcement on Tuesday.

The trophy is awarded annually to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of “perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.”

Clayton Keller of Arizona and Alex Stalock of Chicago are the other finalists.

Letang has been nominated for the trophy three times, in 2014, 2015 and 2018. He was named a finalist in 2015 and was a runner-up to Devan Dubnyk.

The NHL awards will be held on June 26 in Nashville.
