PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired forward Jeff Carter from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for conditional 2022 third-round and 2023 fourth-round draft picks, it was announced early Monday morning.
Signed through the 2021-22 season, Carter’s contract has an average annual value of $5,272,727, the Penguins said. Los Angeles will retain 50% of the 36-year-old’s salary.
This year, Carter has had eight goals, 11 assists and 19 points in 40 games.

Carter spent the last 10 seasons with the Kings, winning Stanley Cups with the team in 2012 and 2014. He’s also a two-time NHL All-Star.
Carter previously played for the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Philadelphia Flyers.
At the 2014 Olympics, Carter won a gold medal with Sidney Crosby and Team Canada. Carter is from London, Ontario.
