Frigid wind chills on tap for first half of weekend before warm up

PITTSBURGH — Snow showers will be flying again early Saturday so watch that first step out the door. A coating of snow is possible by sunrise with off and on snow showers through noon.

Most areas will see less than 1 inch of snow, but even a light coating could make untreated roads icy.

Wind chills will be the story for the rest of the day with gusty winds making it feel more like single digits through the afternoon.

A season shift will bring temperatures back to near 50 degrees by Sunday.
