Warm and muggy weather sticking around into Tuesday

PITTSBURGH — Don’t put away the short sleeves just yet, summer heat and humidity are sticking around.

Warm and muggy weather will stay locked into the area Tuesday, with temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above normal for September.

You’ll notice hazy sunshine during the day too, as winds continue to pump wildfire smoke our way.

The focus Wednesday will turn to the threat for storms. An early round of storms will be possible in spots Wednesday morning, with a better chance for storms developing after lunch and into the evening. The warm, muggy weather will help to fuel heavy downpours, and any storm that forms could also spark damaging winds.
