Winter Storm Warning in effect for our area until mid Monday

PITTSBURGH — A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for our area until1 PM Monday.

Snow showers will begin to develop from the south this afternoon. Steady snow will fall early in the evening with mixing in spots south and east of Pittsburgh.

There may be a period late evening when the snow will stop for a short period of time. A second round of snow will move in after midnight and continue into Monday morning, this is when the steadiest snow will fall across our area.

Travel will be dangerous Sunday evening and through the Monday morning commute with accumulation snow across out area; expect snow covered roads, icy spots, and low visibility.

Try to avoid travel during this time. The highest snowfall totals will be north and west of Pittsburgh. Lower snowfall amount will be south and east of the Pittsburgh through Westmoreland and Fayette counites; this does not include the ridges. Stay safe!
