PITTSBURGH — DISH Network has dropped AT&T SportsNet from its channel lineup, effectively dropping TV coverage of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pittsburgh Pirates games.

AT&T SportsNet made the announcement on its website that negotiations with DISH Network had proved to be unfruitful.

“During our renewal conversations, we proposed a very favorable deal for DISH that other large distributors accepted,” AT&T SportsNet said in a statement posted to its website. “DISH Network was only willing to engage on very nonstandard terms to continue distributing the networks. No other (regional sports network) in the country had accepted the terms DISH proposed to us.”

A local representative from DISH Network did not immediately respond for comment.
