Pittsburgh Foundation announces first woman president

Lisa Schroeder has been named presdient of the Pittsburgh Foundation.

PITTSBURGH — Lisa Schroeder, who had been president and CEO of Riverlife for 13 years, is returning to Pittsburgh as the first woman to lead one of the region's largest foundations.

The Pittsburgh Foundation on Monday confirmed Schroeder has been hired as the community foundation's new president following an eight-month search. She will succeed Maxwell King, who is retiring at the end of the summer after a five-year term.

Schroeder, who starts her new post in June, left Riverlife in 2015 to become president and CEO at the Parks & People Foundation in Baltimore. She had also served on the Pittsburgh Foundation’s board from 2008-2011.
