The redevelopment of South Hills Junction is a part of the Station Improvement Program, with project plans also being formulated to make improvements to the light rail stations in Dormont and Station Square. The plans are presented as a part of the Port Authority’s transit-oriented development initiative, which looks to make improvements to Port Authority stations and service lines in order to encourage housing and retail development that is accessible via public transit.
