Walnut Capital Partners announces groundbreaking for new Oakland research tower

PITTSBURGH — Walnut Capital Partners has scheduled a date to start building the next major office building in Oakland.

The firm announced today that it will start construction on its Innovation Research Tower at Fifth and Halket on Tuesday, May 26, the day after Memorial Day.

Based on a design by downtown-based Strada Architecture LLC, the project will be built by PJ Dick and the development firm is touting the project as the first customized for the needs and uses of researches and entrepreneurs of Oakland’s new Innovation District.
