Charges filed after mother of 4 hit, killed by motorcycle in Rochester

ROCHESTER, Pa. — Charges have been filed after a woman was hit by a motorcycle and killed in Rochester in early June.

Destiny Lute, a 40-year-old mother of four, died on June 3.

Police said Lute went out into the middle of the road just before she was hit by a motorcycle.

Alexander Anskate told police he tried to swerve out of the way but she jumped in front of him. He said he didn’t see her standing there until he was right up on her.

“it is very tragic that she passed away because the short time I knew her, she seemed to be a very nice person,” said Ken Majors.

Police charged Anskate with DUI.

According to the criminal complaint, before the accident, Anskate was drinking at Uncle Chuck’s bar where Lute worked.

He had a blood alcohol level of 0.11%, according to court documents.

When he left the bar on his motorcycle, Lute allegedly ran out in front of him on the road, trying to stop him because she thought it was her boyfriend.

Lute died at the hospital from her injuries. Those who knew her say she enjoyed helping others, spending time with the Beaver County Legend Riders and playing pool.

“I met Destiny a few months ago, we went to Uncle Chuck’s to play pool,” said Majors.

The community is holding a fundraiser for Lute’s family at Saxon Club on July 29.
