Truck accident in Belle Vernon causes backups and restrictions on I-70

BELLE VERNON, Pa. — A truck accident in Belle Vernon caused part of I-70 to be shut down in both directions earlier on Tuesday.

According to Rostraver Central Fire Department, North Belle Vernon Fire Department and Rostraver Central Fire Department were on scene controlling fluids leaking from a truck up on the divider.

The accident is on I-70 East at Exit 42.

There are no reported injuries from the crash.

The backup on the interstate also caused an additional accident at Exit 42A West in Rostraver.

There’s no word on what caused the commercial vehicle accident.

Part of the roadway has since reopened.
