Duquesne University’s men’s basketball team will feature Gecko Robotics as its first-ever jersey sponsor.
North Shore-headquartered Gecko Robotics was founded in 2013 by two Grove City College alums, CEO Jake Loosararian and President Troy Demmer, and utilizes a suite of robotics to perform inspections of things that would be difficult or dangerous for a human to complete. The company has been named the Official AI and Robotics Partner of Duquesne University Athletics and will see its logo displayed on jerseys worn by the university’s men’s basketball team throughout the 2026-27 season.
This is the first season that Duquesne will be allowed to feature a commercial patch on its basketball jerseys, following a rule change from NCAA Division I made earlier this year that went into effect in August. Pitt athletics recently expanded its partnership with UPMC to include logos on its football jerseys as well.
