Jared Jones carried a perfect game into the sixth inning and the Pirates extended their winning streak to a season-high-tying five games by defeating the Cardinals 2-0 at PNC Park on Tuesday night.

Bottom 6th, 1-0 PIT: With Oneil Cruz on second base and two outs, Ryan O’Hearn delivered an RBI single to left field off Andre Pallante to break the scoreless tie.
Bottom 7th, 2-0 PIT: The Pirates (80-77) extended their lead when Spencer Horwitz scored from third base on Cade Winquest’s wild pitch with two outs.
Key Moments
Ryan O’Hearn’s RBI single in the sixth inning was all Jared Jones and the bullpen needed. Luke Weaver threw a scoreless eighth inning and Gregory Soto recorded his 16th save of the season.
