JT Brubaker likely to start season on IL

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander JT Brubaker is expected to begin the season on the injured list.

Pirates manager Derek Shelton told reporters Monday that Brubaker is experiencing discomfort in his forearm and elbow. Brubaker has pitched 17.1 innings in Grapefruit League this spring, allowing 10 runs and 16 hits while striking out 26 and walking three.
