PITTSBURGH — PennDOT is closing the HOV lanes on major local highways because of expected snow.

The HOV lanes will be closed to traffic on I-279 and I-579 on New Year’s Eve and through New Year’s Day.
Traffic is expected to return to normal the morning of Jan. 2.
