Person flown to hospital from crash over retaining wall in Washington

WASHINGTON, Pa. — A person was flown to a hospital after a car crashed over a retaining wall in Washington on Monday morning.

A Washington County 911 dispatcher tells Channel 11 that first responders were sent to Washington Road in Washington around 8:40 a.m., where a car had gone over a retaining wall. Photos shared with Channel 11 show the car landed on its roof.

South Strabane emergency officials say the car crashed through a fence in the parking lot of Longhorn Steakhouse and fell 20 feet over the retaining wall and into a retention pond.

We’ve learned the driver, who was the only person in the car, was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after being extricated. Their current condition is not known.

This is a developing story that will be updated as Channel 11 learns more.
