Woman charged in shooting outside Beaver Falls bar

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — A woman is facing charges for a shooting outside a Beaver Falls bar overnight.

The City of Beaver Falls Police Department says officers responded to Li’l Joe’s Bar, located along 7th Avenue, just after 1 a.m. for a report of a shooting.

Responding officers found a person shot in the abdomen. That person was flown to an area hospital and is in stable condition.

According to police, an investigation determined that Tazjia Smith, of New Brighton, shot the person after an altercation with a member of the bar’s security staff.

She left the bar after the shooting but was arrested at her home. Smith is facing charges of criminal attempt to commit homicide, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
