Pittsburgh police searching for driver who struck a motorcyclist, leaving him unconscious

PITTSBURGH — Police are searching for the driver involved in an alleged hit-and-run crash Tuesday night.

First responders were sent to Western Avenue and Fontella Street in Chateau around 9:30 p.m., according to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.

There, they found a motorcyclist unconscious on the ground. He eventually woke up, and medics took him to the hospital. He was last said to be stable.

Officials say the driver didn’t stay on scene, but the vehicle was found abandoned nearby.

The investigation is ongoing. There’s been no word on any arrests.
