PITTSBURGH — The Steelers have made the Allen Robinson II trade official, the team announced Friday morning. Pittsburgh will trade the 234th overall pick in the seventh round for the 251st overall selection and Robinson.
Robinson passed his physical two days ago and that set in motion the wheels to get the trade approved. At this point, it seems extremely likely that Robinson will be the third wide receiver and starting slot receiver, as that is where he slots in perfectly in the offense right now.
In addition, the Rams are converting $5 million of Robinson’s salary into a signing bonus, in addition to the roster bonus and signing bonus they have already paid him, the Steelers will pay him just $5 million for the 2023 season. If the Steelers wish to retain Robinson for 2024, they will owe him $10 million. They can release him after 2023 with no salary cap penalty after the deal was reworked on Thursday.
