BALDWIN, Pa. — A Baldwin family is left with only the clothes on their backs after a fire destroyed their home.
In the midst of dealing with their tragedy, they are taking time to thank a special firefighter who they say saved their lives by saving their valuables and puppy.
“Our dog is like our child. Just seeing her up there, in the house full of smoke and everything," Nicolle Sokolowski said.

Mark Sokolowski, Nicolle's husband, tried to run back into the home but was stopped by a police officer. Once fire crews got on the scene a firefighter was able to go in to see what he could recover.
“He came inside and he came down with her dog alive. I'll tell you what, there was a little crowd of neighbors and people over here watching and everybody was cheering and clapping," he said.
