SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man who had been missing from South Strabane Township since Saturday has been located and is safe, police said in a Facebook post Thursday morning.
Crews searched through through the rain Wednesday for 65-year-old John Ruffing.
Ruffing was last seen walking from his home in the Windsor Highlands neighborhood. He didn’t have his medication, police said.

Channel 11 talked with Ruffing’s family about the search efforts. Crews used drones, helicopters, bloodhounds and other technology to help find him.
“We don’t know what happened, all we can figure is some kind of medical event had to have occurred that he just wandered off. He doesn’t have his medication and he doesn’t have a cell phone and this is completely unlike him,” his daughter, Lauren Ruffing, said.
Police haven’t released where he was found.
