PITTSBURGH — An East Liberty man announced he is running for mayor of Pittsburgh as an independent.
Marlin Woods, 48, works as a benefits consultant. He is now the second person running for mayor in November after state Rep. Ed Gainey, 51, beat Mayor Bill Peduto in May’s Democratic primary.
Woods said he’s been planning a campaign since 2017 and wants to run the city with more input from residents. He announced his run Thursday night with a rally in Highland Park.
