• Vehicles slide off steep road in Pittsburgh neighborhood

PITTSBURGH - Several cars slid off a steep road amid icy conditions Monday morning, forcing the road’s closure in Pittsburgh’s Banksville neighborhood.

At least three vehicles slid off Potomac Avenue about 7 a.m. They came to a stop in a home’s front yard.

“Coming down when it snows, it’s terrible. It’s like you’re in a screaming metal death trap. It’s something surreal. It happened to me and my wife a couple of weeks ago,” Seth Dotson, who lives in Banksville, said.

The road was closed while Pittsburgh Public Works crews plowed and salted the road.

“My place of business is right there and we access our parking lot from Potomac, and it’s a treacherous road in the wintertime,” Richard Talarico said.
