PITTSBURGH — Local students have new backpacks and school supplies thanks in part to the Steelers' Cam Heyward.

His foundation paired with Urban Pathways K-thru-5 College Charter School. Organizers said the event was to help give students a feeling of “normalcy” for the school year.

“Now more than ever before we’re at home and we need all the help we can get, and this is a show of support for our school and the greater Pittsburgh community,” William Wade with the charter school said.

This was the third “Blessings in a Backpack” event to help students.
