Temperatures reach near zero overnight, cold winds continue throughout the week

PITTSBURGH — A blast of colder has settled in. Temperatures will be in the teens this evening with wind chills in the single digits to near zero.

This frigid air will stay in place for the next several days with wind chills below zero in spots for the Monday morning commute. Wind chills will be a factor all week, make sure to dress in warm layers and winter gear to protect exposed skin when you are outside. Make sure to protect your pets from the cold.

The next system will move in from the south late Monday night and bring snow showers to the area into the Tuesday morning commute. Snow-covered roads, slippery travel and reduced visibility are expected. Make sure to allow extra time and watch for icy and snowy travel. Wind chills will drop below zero Tuesday night and through the day on Wednesday.
