AAA: Gas prices in Western Pennsylvania fall this week

Gas prices in Western Pennsylvania fell six cents this week to $4.191 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

The decrease aligns with annual seasonal trends as schools and universities begin fall semesters, leading to fewer road trips than earlier in the summer. As of this week, more than half of U.S. states are recording average gas prices below $4 per gallon.

In Western Pennsylvania, the average price of $4.191 per gallon compares to $4.258 per gallon one week ago and $3.369 per gallon one year ago. The record high average price in Western Pennsylvania was $5.029 per gallon, recorded on June 13, 2022.

Separately, the national average cost of electricity at public electric vehicle charging stations held steady over the past week at 42 cents per kilowatt hour.
