Brentwood Fourth of July celebration returns after 2-year break

BRENTWOOD, Pa. — After a two-year break because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brentwood’s Fourth of July celebration returns in full force.

The sights and sounds of a parade are back in Brentwood.

Crowds lined Brownsville Road, waving American flags as they watched a long procession.

The Brentwood Fourth of July Celebration is is a tradition that dates back over a hundred years.

Last year, there was only a drive-through parade. This year, the event is getting back to more normal times.

“We’re glad to see things are starting to unfold again. It’s still a pain you have to wear masks a lot of places. Keeps everybody safe that’s a good thing,” said Bob Malley, a member of the 726th Marine Corps League.

The celebration will end with a blast tonight. A fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m.
