Carrick Shop ‘n Save closing its doors after decades

PITTSBURGH — A local grocery store is closing its doors after decades.

The Shop ‘n Save along Brownsville Road in Carrick is preparing to close. An official says the store is closing because the independently owned operator is retiring.

The official says this was a difficult decision for the owner, as their family “deeply values the community and relationships built over the years.”

A final closing date has not yet been determined, but it’s anticipated to be sometime in early February.

The official said there are three other Shop ‘n Save locations within 15 minutes of the Carrick store.

Even with this store closure, all store gift cards remain valid and previously earned Perks Rewards can still be redeemed at participating Sunoco locations.
