Community’s first-ever ‘Restaurant Week’ kicks off in McCandless (WPXI/WPXI)

MCCANDLESS, Pa. — The first-ever Restaurant Week is underway in McCandless.

Eighteen businesses ranging from coffee shops to full-service restaurants are taking part.

They’re offering discounts, complimentary items or limited-time dishes.

Organizers hope it will encourage residents to visit local spots and discover new favorites.

“I think it will bring a lot of people out to the park and there is so many great things to do out here,” Over the Bar bartender Anna Maggi said. “There is so many great people here and our workers that we have. I’m excited for everyone to come out and see what we have to offer.”

Restaurant Week runs through Friday.

A grant from Allegheny County’s Main Streets program made this event possible.
