NEW CASTLE, Pa. — A driver led officers on a chase before crashing into a car with a woman and two kids inside in New Castle Tuesday night, according to state police.
Troopers tried to pull over an SUV around 8:37 p.m. for an expired plate, but they said the driver didn’t stop.
Officers pursued the SUV until police said the driver ran a stop sign at East Lutton and Washington streets and crashed into a car with a woman and two kids inside.
The 60-year-old woman was left with a possible broken leg or ankle, and a possible concussion, police said. She was taken to a local hospital. The two kids in the car, 10 and 2 years old, were treated for minor injuries and then released to their parents.
The suspect ran away from the scene after the crash.
State police continue to investigate.
