House collapses during fire in Westmoreland County, local fire department taking donations to help

MOUNT PLEASANT TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A fire has destroyed a house in Westmoreland County.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 100 block of Academy Lane in Mount Pleasant Township at around 6:30 p.m.

A portion of the front part of the house has collapsed and debris has reached out onto the street.

According to our partners at TribLIVE.com, seven fire companies were called to fight the fire.

It is unknown if there was anyone inside the house when the fire began.

The Calumet Volunteer Fire Department is taking clothing donations for the family members who lived inside the house.

Anyone willing to provide donations is asked to drop them off at the Calumet Volunteer Fire Department or to call the station at 724-423-3232 or 724-590-1775.

Donations will no longer be accepted after Monday.
