Job fair being held for SCI Fayette

The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections will hold a job fair Thursday to fill vacancies at State Correctional Institution Fayette.

The event is scheduled to run from noon to 6 p.m. at PA CareerLink Fayette County at 112 Commonwealth Drive, Lemont Furnace.

The department is hiring for corrections officer trainees and several other positions across multiple fields within the facility.

Employment with the Commonwealth includes a benefits package featuring competitive pay, paid time off and retirement plans, officials say.

Applicants for corrections officer trainee positions must be at least 18 years old.

Onsite interviews for these roles will take place during the event and individuals are required to bring two forms of identification.

The Department of Corrections has obtained a waiver for Pennsylvania’s residency requirement. This change allows the agency to recruit and hire candidates from neighboring states to work at the facility.

No registration or appointment is required to attend the fair. Officials encourage interested individuals to visit the state’s employment website to submit applications before they arrive at the event.
