Lt. Governor at Kennywood for 125th anniversary

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis was at Kennywood Thursday, celebrating the historic park’s 125th anniversary.

One of the highlights of the day, going on the Jack Rabbit roller coaster — the fifth oldest operating roller coaster in the world. He was sent on the ride with a Go-Pro, and you can see his point of view in the video below.

Davis said the ride hasn’t changed a bit. And, he spoke to Channel 11 one-on-one about what Kennywood means to him.

“I practically grew up at Kennywood, living in McKeesport right down the river here. This is a place that has so many special memories for me and my family. I’m expecting my first daughter next month and I can’t wait for her to make some memories here as well,” he said.

Davis says the Governor’s office wants to support Kennywood and its contributions to western Pennsylvania.
