Pitt volleyball sweeps Kentucky, advances to 4th straight Final Four appearance

PITTSBURGH — Pitt volleyball is headed to the Final Four for the fourth straight season.

Pitt swept No. 3 Kentucky in a hard-fought Regional Final match Saturday night.

“We’re a different team — a more experienced team — and it’s clear when we step on the court we want it,” Olivia Babcock told Channel 11 after the win. “There’s no doubt we’re coming out to win. We’re not playing to lose — we’re playing to win — and I think everyone in the city knows that, and everyone here does, too.”

Pitt will face a familiar foe in the National Semifinal: Louisville. Pitt beat them twice already this year, but the Final Four is at the Cardinal’s home turf, the KFC Yum! Center. The matchup is scheduled for Dec. 19.

The National Championship game is set for Dec. 22.
