PITTSBURGH — Registration is now open for the 24th Annual City of Pittsburgh Gingerbread House Display & Competition.
The event invites individuals, schools, community groups, non-profits and professionals from across the region to enter their gingerbread creations. The completed entries will go on public display at the City-County Building beginning Nov. 20.
The display will feature nearly 20 category award winners. Special recognitions include the Curator’s Choice award, selected by curatorial staff at the Carnegie Museum of Art and the People’s Choice award, decided by public vote. Clearview Federal Credit Union will select and present the Clearview Classroom Choice award from entries submitted by participating area schools.
The annual competition originally launched in 2002 through a partnership with Downtown Pittsburgh hotels to benefit the Children’s Hospital Free Care Fund. After attracting entries and visitors at PPG Place for several years, the event relocated to the City-County Building in 2019.
An opening ceremony for the display will take place at the City-County Building on Friday, Nov. 20, 2026. The entries will remain on public display for Light Up Night on Nov. 21, 2026 and run through early January.
Registration remains open online at pittsburghpa.gov/gingerbread through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2026.
